If there’s one common thread between all men, it’s this: we all die. It’s a fact of life and a real man accepts it. Just as the ultimate man lives nobly, he should die nobly. There’s nothing wrong with dying in your sleep, but these guys went out with a bang.

 10. Buffalo Bill Cody (1846-1917)

After a life lived in the saddle in the American West, touring the world with his “Buffalo Bill’s Wild West” show with a revolving cast of living legends such as Sitting Bull and Wild Bill Hickok, Buffalo Bill Cody found himself at the end of his trail in Denver in 1917. Rather than die quietly in bed, he decided to go out on his terms. He called his pals together for a last card game. Cody played until he slumped to the table and thereby died as he lived. Cody technically died of kidney failure, a month short of his 71st birthday, but he really died from a life lived loudly.
